All useless parts/components and designs are taken off to shorter the path . All the offset and values has been corrected (Some area of the original design is not too ideal and some areas can be done in a better way). Completed with brand new set of James 300B Output Transformers. A pair of these fine transformer costs more than a 300B amp that made in China with full set of tubes. No self noise or hum thru speakers. Unlike a pair $5000+ AN 300B Monoblocks I just sold (Not a Kit!), which has excess hum and noise thru my high efficiency speakers, but most commercial SE amps thru out my SET amp conquest have this common problems too, only a few very exotic ones with finest kind of transformer is passed. For those who is not familiar with James, they have been making high quality transformer for over 30 years. And the sound quality is on par, as good or better than the best bunch of transformer on earth, such as Tamura, Tango and Hashimoto...etc.  The reliability, fit and finish is also better than some of the best bunch. Power has been up 2 watts to 8 watts from 5-6 watts with the original Tranny that is made by scarp metal. Loss/Distortion is much lower with the James on. Self/Background noisy as well more quiet. No Hums no nothing. Resolution is also far better. Better than most domestic OPT i have experienced. Special note on the very special 6SJ7 driver tubes - they are some military tubes that has lower noise floor than the commonly used 6SN7 and is also more rugged (long life). Is not the most musical tubes but it did the job perfectly. However, if you still decide to go with the more popular 6SN7, I can optionally replace them for you on extra 2 Hrs labor. If on the scale between -5 KR Audio (Accurate/clean and powerful sounding)  to +5 Audio Note (Very sweet, vivid/slowish and musical sounding), I would rate this amp for about -1. This amp is very lay back sounding, tonal balance, lots of air, high resolution, good dynamics and powerful. Indeed very close sounding to the Mcintosh 275 and 2275. Price is reasonably rated and INCLUDED ALL TUBES, virtually new / less than 2 hrs. The transformers, labor of modification and tubes alone well worth the price! NOTE: The amp is 110-240V switch able externally. I might have not have the original boxes (in storage). Will pack bomb proof and double boxed if I can't fine the original boxes.
