This motor will fit many models of Teac & Tascam machines like the Tascam Model 38, Teac X series machines, and as far back as the Teac A-3440 and here's how: Take a look at your capstan motor inside your machine. If it is the same style gold casing motor as is shown in our photograph the motor will work. You may have to change the pulley on this motor to your pulley (simple, 2 allen screws) and you may have to change the motor control board to your board (also very simple, just a matter of unsoldering and soldering a couple wires). Here's something many people do not realize about these Teac / Tascam motors. The gold housing you are looking at is not actually the motor's housing but it does house the entire motor. On the rear of the gold case are 3 screws which attach to the rear housing cover and they are in 3 slots. If you loosen those three screws, turn the cover slightly and pop it out you will see the actual motor. And this same motor is used in all this particular style outer case. This particular motor we are offering was carefully removed from a very low usage Teac model X3R machine. Motor part number EM1446. It will also replace motors with the part number, for example, EM1450 Motor control board number 51678860 DC 24 Volt 7 Watt The motor label is marked CCW for Counterclockwise rotation and CW for clockwise rotation AND the motor will wotk in auto reverse and non-auto reverse machines. Will this actual motor work in your model X-10?...YES, and your A-3440, X-7R, X3, 38,....etc. Same gold outer case = actual motor will work for you.
