See other selling terms below.   Here we have THE Holy Grail of all amplifiers! The McIntosh MC275 Vacuum Tube Power Amp, and not only that, but it is an ORIGINAL, not the re-issue that they are currently producing (which is great, but doesn't have the history of this one).   All McIntosh products hold their value better than any other audio equipment, but this amplifier holds it's value better than any other McIntosh! Just to give you an idea, this amp originally sold for $400-$600 new, and the re-issue is currently $4500. We expect this fantastic original to go for more than that, AND will likely continue to go UP in value for whoever is lucky enough to buy it.     What is more, and a nice touch if you are into the history of McIntosh, is that this piece was taken in to an Amp clinic, and given the inspection seal. I am not sure what the numbers certify (probably the date of 2-6-91 which was the final year the clinics were done) but the DOB is certainly the late Dave O'Brian who ran the clinics. That alone makes this a very special collector's piece.   But enough about value, the reason people love these amps, is they sound better than anything out there. This one has been completely tested out by our technicians, and sounds absolutely perfect. It puts out 75w in stereo (150 in mono), and not only that, but it will do it at 4, 8 or 16 Ohms (2, 4 or 8 Ohms in mono)!   The Output tubes are: 2x RCA Red Label 6550,  2x Harmon Kardon 6550   Pre-driver tubes are: 1x Telefunken 12ax7, 1x Telefunken 12au7,  2x McIntosh 12b47, 1x McIntosh 12az7, 1x 12az7 Micro   Condition wise, this is one of the best originals you are likely to find. The chrome shows no pitting at all, the tube sockets are in great shape, the tube cage is practically like new. What is amazing though is that the insides are COMPLETLY mint. The capacitors look like they just came off the assembly line.    There is one small flaw, one of the speaker terminal connecting blocks has a crack in the plastic of the block. This will not affect the sound, but we will include a replacement block if you wish to replace it. We will leave that decision up to you, in case you want to keep it all original.   The only minor modification we made in our store was we put on spade/soft pin adapters which allowed us to use bannana plugs which we use on many of our speakers. We will include them, but if you don't need them, they are certainly easy to remove.   Please note, before you bid, that this is a HEAVY piece, and shipping will be pricey. We do not have an original box, but will package it very very well. We sell tube gear quite often, and our owner is an expert in packaging tube gear to make sure it is protected and will get to you without damage.
