While others like the old Kenwood laser disc demodulator got the job done, this is one of the best ever made and is superior in parts, build quality and sound. You can even connect the AC-3 DD from the laser disc player to your audio processor/receiver via Digital Coax cable instead of Toslink cable if you prefer. This part alone had an original price of $499. Both parts when new cost $1599 total - not including the cost of the laser disc movies.
