Start Price GBP 3,300.00 Current Price GBP 3,300.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Sunday, September 07, 2008 Location Oxford See more about 'Pr IMF SACM,100% renovated, stands, fab cond, LEGENDARY' Description jerrybloomfield Store  Pr. of IMF SACMSPECIAL APPLICATION CONTROL MONITORSThis auction is for a matched pair of incredibly rare and sought after IMF SACM ( Special Application Control Monitor ) transmission line monitor speakers.  There were only ever 3,000 pairs made of these legendary speakers, always to special order, and it is probable that there are no more than 50 pairs left in the world. They are widely held to be in the Top Ten of loudspeakers that have been made.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.This pair Serial Number 1005 has been fully renovated.  The cabinets have been professionally restored by a local furniture restorer here in Oxford.  He re-veneered the tops of the seperate mid-range enclosures in matched American Walnut veneers to the original specification used by IMF, and re-polished and finished the rest of the cabinets.  There is the odd imperfection, but it cost a lot of money and they look wonderful.The stands are the IMF originals as supplied with these speakers which have been re-sprayed to the same superb standard.All the factory-matched drive units are 100% original.  They have been thoroughly checked over, and the super-tweeters which were damaged when I got these speakers have been professionally repaired back to original specification by an ex-Elac engineer who was responsible for the drive unit production originally.  Thedelicate tweeter and super-tweeter leads have been secured at this time with clips and bands - these can be easily removed once the speakers are in a permanent position.  Tag strips have been replaced as have all screws etc. with damaged heads.The crossovers have been fully checked over and all electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with similar components, thus preserving the original sound that these speakers are so famous for.The foam grilles are new, made up by a foam grille specialist in the States.
