I have actually bench tested this item and using the supplied test patterns in the service menu, was able to properly demodulate a signal with my FTA Reciever. I do not have the ability to test this unit in all modes of operation, I do not have the proper mpeg2 encoder to drive this, therefore I do not know how a video input signal looks. I had plans to build a Digital ATV Transmitter with this unit. I have since changed my plans and will not be using this unit as it has become a spare. My plan was to aquire an MPEG2 Encoder, (there are many available that are compatible with this modulator) upconvert to 1255Mhz and broadcast DATV using the DVB-S Format. This unit does come with a softcopy of the manual in PDF format. This is one of the basic building blocks needed to build a Digital ATV repeater. Using 2440mhz FM as the uplink, then re-broadcast on 1255 mhz or 1277 mhz.
