Description
With a 2 year old toddler this is being run way too much, so we're going to downsize to something smaller and less expensive. Sony Qualia 006 SXRD rear projection TV was basically a hand built limited edition product costing $12,999 with oversize chips unlike the smaller production chips in the regular consumer model, producing a more noise free and improved picture quality. Glass optics in the light engine and a glass viewing screen contribute to superior performance compared to the regular SXRD sets and its weight of 275 pounds. If you have seen the regular XBR SXRD sets in the 50,60 and 70 inch sizes you do not know what a difference in picture quality the Qualia 006 has to its regular production models. New optical block/light engine installed 7/8/08 (Optical Block is a $5000 part and the basic component of the set), extended warranty through ABT until 10/09. Has a bulb installed and two extra lamps are included with the purchase, a $600 value. Doesn't render blacks quite as deeply as the new Pioneer Kuro 9th generation but competes, has colors and details at the same level or surpassing the latest Plasma and LCD sets. This set presents depth and a film/theater like viewing experience better than anything else we've found including the latest Plasma and LCD units, even though these sets are 3 years old. More info can be found at http://www.qualia.sony.us/ . Serial number 1869. Selling as a 'pick up' item but will cooperate with buyer arranged pickup/shipping to their destination, we have the original carton that the sets are shipped in, shipping wiegh would be ~300 pounds so it should probably go on a pallet if someone is serious about it being transported any distance. Further feedback on our buying and selling is available at Audiogon.com under the user name ctralmer (my wife's account). Prefer a bank check or echeck through Paypal to reduce the cost of the transaction. Feel free to email any questions about the unit-thanks for looking
