Extended Service Plans Available       Overview: The Panasonic CN-NVD905U Strada Mobile Navigation system is a double-DIN, in-dash GPS-based navigation system with a built-in DVD player and a 7" widescreen color LCD monitor. Not only can you receive turn-by-turn directions as you drive, but you can enjoy hours of entertainment from DVD movies, CDs, iPod, or satellite radio. Map Information: This unit has a built-in 2.5" 30GB Hard Disc Drive (HDD) containing maps for the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada (from NAVTEQ), including detailed city maps and 12-million points of interest. The HDD and ultra 1-chip GPS provide fast, turn-by-turn directions and let you conduct multiple searches. Display: The 7" (diagonal) LCD monitor features Touch Panel Operation for both navigation and audio/video entertainment. The angle of the video monitor can be adjusted to give the best visibility. The monitor has a resolution of 480 x 234 and 336,960 total pixels. You can adjust the screen's contrast and brightness, plus tone and color (in DVD, AV, and Rear Camera modes). There are also day and night screen modes to choose from. GPS: The unit receives positioning information from the Global Positioning System, a system of satellites orbiting at an altitude of 21,000 km. Signals are received from three or more satellites and triangulated to calculate the position. In addition to GPS, speed sensors enable the system to measure the movement of the vehicle and help to calculate the position of the vehicle. Adaptive Volume Control: When the vehicle's speed exceeds 50 miles per hour,  the guidance volume is automatically raised by one step (unless it is already set to the maximum level of 7 or more). You can also set the voice guidance to output from the left, right, or both channels. Map Orientation: The display can be switched between Heading Up, with the heading direction towards the top of the map, and North Up, with North at the top of the map display. Zooming: You can zoom in and out on the map display, changing the map scale from 150 feet to 300 miles. When the scale is 150 feet, you can switch to a city map (where available) which displays the shape of the buildings along the streets. SD Card Slot: Behind the front panel, an SD Memory card slot is provided for map data and software updates. It cannot be used for playing back audio files stored on SD memory cards. ID Code: You can assign a 4-digit ID code for security. Once the ID code has been set, the unit cannot be operated if the main power supply is disconnected, then reconnected. It is electrically locked so that a thief cannot use the stolen unit unless that person knows the code you have set. Rear View Camera: A rear-view camera can be added to the Strada Mobile Navigation system. A rear view camera-RCA conversion cable which terminates into a female RCA composite video jack is supplied. When the reverse gear detection wire (purple/white) is connected to the vehicle's backup lamp circuit, the video from the rear view camera will be automatically shown on the video monitor whenever the vehicle is put into reverse. Audio/Video Features CD/DVD Slot: The CN-NVD905U has a slot for CDs and/or DVDs behind the motorized front panel. The unit is compatible with the following discs: DVD-Video (including DVD-R and DVD-RW recorded in Video Mode), Audio CD, CD-R, and CD-RW, as well as MP3 and WMA files recorded onto CD-R/W discs. MP3/WMA: Playable MP3 files should be recorded onto CD-R or CD-RW discs at a bit rate of 8-320 kbps and VBR. WMA files should be recorded at 32-192 kbps. The maximum number of files is 511 (files + folders), with up to 255 files per folder, and up to 192 total folders. SRS CS Auto: The unit features SRS Circle Surround Auto, a surround system tailored for use in a vehicle, using a Circle Surround decoder. When the distance is set, the timing of the sound output from other speakers is delayed to match the speaker furthest from the reference point (approximately 0.3 ms per 10 cm). Subwoofer: when a subwoofer is connected, you can set the frequency of the built-in low-pass filter. SQ7: The audio can be adjusted using the built-in SQ7 7-band graphic equalizer.
